We follow Noni, a fearless Dora Milaje warrior tasked with taking down a Wakandan defector known only as the Lion. It’s a globe-trotting cat-and-mouse story set against a backdrop of ancient conquest. The visuals are breathtaking, from sun-bleached deserts to ornate strongholds. The Lion is a compelling villain, not just because he’s dangerous, but because he believes Wakanda’s isolation is a mistake. His ideology plants seeds of the same conflict we later see in Black Panther and Wakanda Forever.
Noni’s solo infiltration and victory may feel a little overpowered, but the energy is there. The hand-to-hand combat is kinetic, and the emotional tension sneaks in during quiet moments.
