Wednesday – Season 2, Episode 1: “The Crow and the Crackling Pyre”

Wednesday Addams is back and Nevermore has never felt weirder.

The season premiere picks up after a summer of spellcasting, psychic overload, and serial killer showdowns. But don’t expect Wednesday to be riding a high. She hates being celebrated and this new semester begins with a whole lot of attention she doesn’t want.

What we get in this first episode is a slow-burning Gothic setup. There’s creepy crows, hidden messages, dark visions, and yes, Wednesday being pulled into a mysterious new case. We also get to meet a few fresh faces and welcome back the characters we love. Pugsley joins the student body with literal sparks flying from his fingertips, and Enid is still the bright-colored werewolf bestie trying to keep Wednesday grounded.

The big hook is that Wednesday has a stalker again, and this time it’s serious. There’s psychic burnout, black tears, and a disturbing cemetery vision that hints Enid’s life may be in danger. That emotional thread gives the mystery some real urgency. And Pugsley accidentally raising a zombie? Well, that just feels right at home.

A strong start that leans into moody world-building and creepy setups. Wednesday is still Wednesday, and the mystery is officially on.
